Young talented designer Antrei Hartikainen inspired by an interest in studying light and shadow creates this amazing Bastone collection. The rounded and very light form of the semi-transparent cabinet reminds a birdcage. Handcrafted from fantastic natural materials. The thick top and shelves provide a stable structure. Partly open space makes it perfect for storing or displaying collectibles, books, and more. Poiat is the design studio of Antti Rouhunkoski and Timo Mikkonen, which specializes in interior architecture, product design, design concepts, and consulting. The designers had met while studying at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki and established Poiat in 2010.
Poiat has designed the Coupé shelves for Woud, the Q2 housing concept for Sunhouse, and several interiors for private clients and companies. The studio’s Lavitta collection was selected as the best furniture of the year at the Finnish Muoto design awards gala in 2015.
