Tatu table lamp owes its name to a friendly mammal with a shell on its back that protects it when it rolls up into a ball ( Armadillo). The idea of its creation came to André Ricard when he was observing the light above his seat flying back with his wife on a transoceanic flight. The lamp became a pop-art icon in Europe and after nearly 50 years, Santa & Cole reissued this classic with improved lighting features. This flexible lamp consists of three parts that can rotate independently to adapt its use for a shelf, desk, or bedside table. Also can use as a wall light. Santa & Cole’s edition of the original Tatu is enhanced by applying LED technology that permits to adjust the light intensity. It also features a moveable converging lens that allows the user to adjust the focal length.

Santa & Cole was founded in 1985 by three designers – Nina Masó, Gabriel Ordeing Cole, and Javier Nieto Santa, with a vision of improving design for everyday life. Two years later, they surprised the market with new stylish lamps that were out of the trends of that time, it was something completely unusual. The enthusiasm with which the brand’s products were received inspired the creative team to further exploit. Santa & Cole experts were actively involved in the renovation of Barcelona for the 1992 Olympics. Many solutions that were then implemented on the streets of the city were included in the Santa & Cole catalog and gave an incentive to develop the outdoor direction further.
Today, the Santa & Cole catalog includes lighting fixtures for the home, elements of garden lighting, furniture for living rooms, all kinds of furniture for the city – designer benches, tables, fences, flower pots, drinking fountains, bicycle parking and more
